CONSTRUCTION PROCESS
All my glass pieces are made by carefully layering pieces of transparent and opaque coloured sheet glass, granules and stringers plus various metals in a specific design.
Once the design is completed the piece is transferred to the kiln and fused at over 800 degrees Celsius for up to 24 hours. It is then cold worked using a variety of equipment such as wet tile saw, sand blaster, flat lap grinder and Taurus saw. The piece is then cleaned and returned to the kiln to be formed (slumped) into a specific shape such as a bowl, platter, sushi tray or other specific shape.
